FC International at Diamond Bargrew out of a need for a small, organized, and efficiently ran soccer club.  At the same time, most of the teams had expressed a desire to maintain a level of independence that allowed them to focus on giving the players the maximum development.  This simply meant that they wanted the ability to choose their coaches, trainers, and administrators.  FC International has always felt that each team should be given that independence, but with it came responsibilities.    Currently we are re-defining those responsibilities.  The changes are coming from our need to grow stronger as a club.

Those familiar with our club may have notice the introduction of the FC Intenazionale Club logo, one of the leading teams in Italy.  The group that started this club had always wished to align themselves with FC Internazionale.  We feel that the time is right to fulfill that goal.  However, as we stated above, we believe that our teams should have a certain amount of flexibility; our goal is make this transition over the next year.

In addition, we have been growing through an infusion of teams from Diamond Bar and some of our neighboring cities.  Again, our original goal was to build a strong presence in Diamond Bar.  In addition, we wish to grow our club with players from the tremendous talent within Diamond Bar.  As a matter of record our Articles of Corporation state that our Non-Profit corporation is 'Diamond Bar Futbol Club International'.  One of our goals is to develop a number of teams from within Diamond Bar.

FC International at Diamond Bar is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization and was incorporated in 2000.   At that time we had already been a fully functional club 10 years.   One of our goals has always been to grow with control.  Every effort was made not to exceed 10 teams, and typically stayed with six to seven teams.  This year we are starting with six teams and may see one or two additional teams before our season starts.  Four of the six teams have at least 80% of the players residing in Diamond Bar.

Overview

Our Club, although structured, allows each team's management the freedom to operate independently, focusing on what will benefit the players on their respective teams. Each team may select their coach and/or trainer.  They are responsible for selecting an administrator who will handle the team’s finances.  This allows them to select which tournaments they will play in, how much they will pay for their coaches/trainers, and any other activities in which they wish to participate. Whenever possible the board of directors may recommend a particular tournament where several teams are attending, but only if it will result in a savings to all the teams involved.   We make every effort to provide lit practice fields for our teams.  In City of Diamond Bar, as in every other city, there are a limited number of parks that can accommodate us.  However, we do have a great relationship with the City and with the local A.Y.S.O program.

Board Meetings

Communication is done by emails and with monthly Board Meetings.  The Executive Board consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, Registrar, Treasurer, and Club Coordinator.  Each team will also designate a representative to be on the Board.  On the first Wednesday of every month we have a mandatory meeting per our Corporate Rules and Regulations. These meetings are intended to be very informative as there we discuss everything that is important for the teams to know to make season run smoothly. USYSA, Cal South, and Coast Soccer League release news and information to our Executive Board that needs to reach all our coaches and administrators.

Registration

We are fortunate to have our own League of Registrar.  Our registrar, Debbie Kwan, has been extremely reliable and flexible.  She is able to responds to most questions and/or registration needs within 24 hours.  While she prefers e-mails, she will also provide her cell number for quicker access.

Tournament

Most clubs use tournaments as one of their main sources of fundraising.  We are planning on having two smaller tournaments in order to promote our club as well as to provide a source of fundraising.  In stead of having one large, difficult to manage event, we felt it would be more valuable to have two well organized events.  This would also allow us to have the events hosted in the City of Diamond Bar.

Club Fees

Our Club Fees are uniquely determined.  All our Board Members are volunteers, thus there is no additional fees for their efforts.  We have worked very hard to keep our fees quite affordable, this years annual fee has been set at $500.00.  This pays for field usage, legal fees, operational cost, and equipment fees.  Last year we purchased new field goals for use at our Home Field.   The only other fees are the standard Registration for Cal South and Coast Soccer League. Training fees vary and are set and managed by each individual team.
